John Gwynne is a British author best known for his epic fantasy series, The Faithful and the Fallen , which has been praised for its compelling characters, intricate world-building, and gripping plot. He was born in 1968 in Singapore but spent most of his childhood in East Sussex, England.

Gwynne's love for storytelling began at a young age, and he was an avid reader of fantasy and science fiction novels . He studied and worked in London for several years, where he honed his writing skills while also pursuing a career in the technology industry. However, he never lost his passion for writing, and in his spare time, he continued to develop the world and characters that would eventually become The Faithful and the Fallen .

After years of writing and revising, Gwynne self-published the first book in the series, Malice , in 2012. The book quickly gained a following, and Gwynne was signed by a literary agent, who helped him secure a publishing deal with Tor Books. The series went on to become a bestseller, with each book receiving critical acclaim and praise from fans of the genre.
